Incase Topographic Pattern
The pattern on the back of the iPhone Protective Cover, also used on a variety of other products is referred to as the Incase “Topo” pattern. “Topo” is short for topography which references the study of the Earth’s surface features. In this case, the lines commonly found on topographic maps have been abstracted.
This unique pattern along with the integration of the Incase logo is a graphic component of the Incase identity representing the concept of travel. The Topo pattern also resembles an abstracted wood grain that compliments the Incase leaf logo.

Love the Protective Cover!!!
I still don’t have my iPhone but I am almost ready to get the cover :)
Have you thought about giving free in this blog some desktops for the iPhone with the Topographic Pattern? I saw how the packaging looks for the cover and thought about creating my own.
I already designed the desktop: http://www.flickr.com/photos/luis_escorial/829270827/

Are you guys planning to make a similar cover for the ipod touch? I like the cover but was wondering if it will be able for the ipod touch.

They say that it is the sincerest form of flattery, but there’s someone selling knock-offs of these on ebay. Yes, they’re cheaper, but the karma costs so much more. Yes, I’m lovin my iphone, even more now that it looks like a big Hershey bar thanks to a fine new incase brown protective case! In the mean time, hunt the counterfitting bastards down and kick them in the nuts.
