Sweet. I have been waiting for these. Good looking on the Black matte.
Aug 13, 2008 at 2:57 pm
Rad! Picking up one of these now. Matte black = success.
Aug 13, 2008 at 4:48 pm
Have you guys at Incase fixed the problem with the black matte cases peeling? I want to get this case, but on my first generation matte black one, the matte finish started peeling after only a few days. If some action has been taken to prevent this, I will purchase it.
Aug 13, 2008 at 6:01 pm
I have called two Apple stores already to ask if they are carrying the new Slider cases. The employees at both locations didn’t even know it was released. Needless to say, they didn’t have any. Questions is…when will these cases be available at the retail stores? Namely, the Apple stores?
Aug 13, 2008 at 6:18 pm
thank you so much for these cases…beautiful design and i’m very excited as this release has been long-awaited :) lookin’ forward to sliding my 3G into one of these, thanks so much again!
Aug 14, 2008 at 4:52 am
I never had any problem with the previous generation peeling.
Is white seriously already sold out? Meh.

@Ryan: Our matte finishes are very reliable. But, as with any product, we have had a few that were returned for issues related to the finish. Outside of these isolated occurrences, we have not had any problems with these units across the board. Should you experience any problems that are covered under our warranty you can file a claim for a replacement case at http://goincase.com/returns/
@steve: Apple Stores should be receiving our Slider Cases in the next couple of days.
@Wes: White gloss is back in stock.
@MG…: Keep our site in check for more colors in the future.
Aug 14, 2008 at 7:54 pm
I see that you mentioned to keep checking the site for other colors.. but do you mean future as in a week or 2? or like a month or 2? Basically is there any given time frame?
Aug 14, 2008 at 11:52 pm
When will these be available at the UK apple stores?
Aug 15, 2008 at 1:56 pm
Just got my matte blk case and its awesome! Fits and looks great!
Aug 16, 2008 at 12:19 pm
I got the glossy white yesterday and it’s amazing. Makes my Iphone look sophisticated and keeps it secured. This is WAY better then the Agent18 any other brand out on the market right now.
The only con I can seeis that the slide piece for the dock is a bit tough to pull out.
5/5 on product.
Aug 16, 2008 at 3:17 pm
when when in the future are you gonna bring out the next colors?
i am waiting for them…i have my iphone 3G and it needs good protection with style! lol
Aug 16, 2008 at 9:40 pm
Where is the glossy black? :(
Aug 17, 2008 at 4:19 pm
I would also like to know when the other colors will be coming out. I think pink or red/burgundy would be really nice!!! I hope it’s sometime soon (by the end of the month?)!
Aug 17, 2008 at 7:14 pm
wanted to put my vote in for a HOT PINK slider.
Aug 18, 2008 at 5:09 am
Will these be available in the UK, if not would you eventually offer international shipping.
Aug 18, 2008 at 7:48 am
When will the slider case be available in the Portuguese Apple Store? Please reply. Thank you.
Aug 18, 2008 at 10:28 am
Magenta would be really sweet! I have a magenta silicone case right now, would love to be able to switch to a magenta Incase Slider!
Aug 18, 2008 at 12:11 pm
Just got the case this morning, and it looks great. But now I can’t get the case off!
Aug 18, 2008 at 1:22 pm

Aug 18, 2008 at 1:29 pm

The store wont let me ship to PR
Aug 18, 2008 at 6:03 pm
Will this new design scratch up the chrome bezel? Has anyone experienced this yet? I don’t plan on removing this case at all once its on. I don’t use the dock, just cable.
Aug 19, 2008 at 6:06 am
easily the BEST iPhone case ever! get crazy with colours…I’d love to see this in orange…lime green even!
Aug 19, 2008 at 10:05 am
I sent a warranty claim two days ago through the website form, but haven’t yet received a response.
My black matte for iPhone (first-gen) snapped on the bottom piece: from the back left corner dock connector portion to the top of the left side of the case… No pressure was placed on the case, nor was the case dropped.
Aug 19, 2008 at 2:53 pm
it seems like it’s impossible to put out the iphone out of main case for clean up. any suggestions?
Aug 19, 2008 at 6:17 pm
I love the case, but when taking the case off from the phone…it just won’t come off!!!! When i took the phone to apple to get it exchanged out, the darn case would not come off and it took three people to take the case off, but overall it is one nice case!
Aug 19, 2008 at 8:47 pm
Why is the shipping costs so absurd for this case? I, and I am sure many others, would have ordered this case day 1 if the S/H were a little bit more reasonable. Purely from a business standpoint, Incase would probably make more money selling directly to a consumer than through a third party retail store (such as Apple).
Aug 20, 2008 at 2:16 pm
If anyone is using a screen protector, have you experienced any trouble getting the bottom piece on without lifting the film? I get bubbles in the corners every time! =( Any tips?
Aug 20, 2008 at 5:33 pm
Hi!
I currently have “Invisible Shield” (fullcover, back and front) on my iPhone 3G and was wondering if my iPhone will fit to slide into the Incase Slider Case for iPhone 3G..? Or will I have to remove my “Invisible Shield” from my iPhone?
Had the Incase Slider Case for my 1G iPhone and I absolutely love it!!! So I know how well fit it is and that it probably wont fit around my iPhone with the “Invisible Shield” on, but I still want to ask..
/Patrik
Aug 20, 2008 at 7:49 pm
is there a black gloss slider case available?
or is it just sold out?
if its sold out, when will it be in stock again??
Aug 21, 2008 at 3:26 am
Could someone from In Case mail me to le tme know when this will be available for purchase in the UK?
Aug 21, 2008 at 4:25 pm
For Rachele: I too had a little difficulty putting the slider portion of the case on my iPhone 3g without getting bubbles…with a little configuring and patience I eventually got no bubbles on the bottom portion of my screen. I too have a Anti-Glaring screen cover, just make sure when u slide the bottom on to lift it up a little as u slide it to prevent it rubbing against the film..and rub and bubbles out when case is on..love the new case tho..matte-black looks sweet, but a gloss black would be a nice touch too
Aug 22, 2008 at 12:25 am
Hi, I’m just wondering when the 3G Slider case will be available in the ONLINE Apple Store for Ireland – http://www.apple.com/ie?
Aug 22, 2008 at 4:56 pm
Purchased 1 gloss white and 2 black “soft touches”
The white’s fit is 100%!!!!
The soft touches, both, leave a slight gap in front where the slider portion meets the top case.
The bezel is slightly visible through the gap. That’s the only issue I’ve had.
Only with the “soft touch” though.
Anyone else experience this issue with their “soft touch” sliders?
This isn’t present in the White or any of the 1st gen iPhones.
If this is an is not an isolated incident is it a molding issue because of the different materials?
Does Incase know of it? Any plans to adress it in later runs of the case?
If so can we swap for the “finallized” version?
Minor complaint, but Incase spoiled me….
Jeep up the good work.
Aug 24, 2008 at 9:51 am
MG, the gap is there for all the black matte cases. The white case fits perfectly, but the black case seems to leave about a 1mm gap where the two pieces meet. I’ve checked about 5 cases and they were all the same. I hope they “fix” that. All in all though, a great case although the white fits better.
Aug 25, 2008 at 2:13 pm
I hope incase releases a clear soft touch case, much like the one they have for the macbooks. It’s a shame to hide the nice white finish of my iPhone behind a black case.
Aug 25, 2008 at 3:03 pm
Hello, I need help!!!! When is incase shipping sliders cases to retail stores( Best Buy, Target, Or Wal-Mart)? I live in cedar rapids, iowa; and I might be the only one in the whole entire state that knows of incase and their great products. I need a retail store because the shipping on the website is a tad expensive.
Aug 25, 2008 at 6:37 pm
Help….just got the white slider for my 16 gig 3g iphone…Any tips on how to get the case off. It was a. little tight going on but now i can slide it off. Got the smaller bottom peice off but cant get the top,Any ideas?
Aug 25, 2008 at 10:59 pm
Ummmm…uh oh. It won’t come off! The top part of the case and my phone have become one!
Is there a trick besides brute force? I don’t want to break my phone :(
Aug 25, 2008 at 11:13 pm
Well, I washed my hands in rubbing alcohol, to get rid of any oil. Then I gripped the face of the phone with my fingers, and the back of it with my thumb, and pulled like there was no tomorrow. A little scary. Quite a bit of force was required. But it did come off.
Aug 25, 2008 at 11:26 pm
I too, bought the glossy white at my local apple retail store, the white fits perfectly, almost too perfect. It was a super tight fit, too get on, and it created bubbles for my anti-glare screen protector. So I tried to take it off, it does take awhile to pry it off. I recommend get a friend or two, one hold the top portion (not the sides, but the top and bottom portion), while the other person(s) hold the Iphone. All at once slowly try to pull, so you don’t scratch the case. The rubber part will make some minor scratches when prying it off, it won’t be seen directly, but indirectly at an angle. It will slowly take a (long time), to take off. It’s more like a tenth of inch at a time, The problem is when you are prying it off, the traction of the rubber, and the plastic body, and the fact that its nearly a perfect fit, makes taking the case off an extremely tough task to do. The chrome bezel as sensitive as it is, might get scratched in the process. How one holds the top portion, and the ones holding the Iphone, will ultimately decide if there will be some unnoticeable light scratches. I love the case because it works. However, endlessly trying to pry it off, and the quality of the case, has made me definitely either wait for a better batch, or return the case. The quality, has some slight flaws in the molding, the first generation iphone incase slider was perfectly well made, and of higher quality in construction. This one has some imperfections around certain portions.

I bought the white slider for my new 3G last night. I put it on right away but decided to clean the phone when I got home and now it won’t come off. I’m afrad I will damage my phone. I tried putting on rubber gloves, nothing works : ( I filed a warranty claim here but no response. I hope I can get it off without scratching my phone. I’m disappointed in Incase, they usually have good products. How could this happen?
Aug 26, 2008 at 10:35 pm
Well mine is also a tight fit, but its not too hard to remove. If the bottom is stuck get about two strips of cellophane tape. Stick it on the back and slowly pull. It will start to come out. From there you can pull it out. The iPhone itself, grab the bottom and hold the top. As you pull the iPhone out, gently wiggle it left/right as you pull slowly. It will slide right out. I think a tight fit is good. Less gunk to get it, and if it does the iPhone won’t jostle inside to cause scratches because it fits securely with no movement at all.

Got the matte case on sunday and its awesome…adds very little bulk to the device and all the buttons are accessible. Only problem is getting the phone out of the case…I honestly can’t do it.
Aug 27, 2008 at 11:26 am
Hey slappy: great idea on the cellophane tape. I used that to get the phone out of the case itself. Good news, because the case itself is bad ass. Really love it.
Aug 27, 2008 at 8:50 pm
I just got my matte black slider for 3G, and I’m definitely loving it.
It feels great and adds only minimal bulk for the protection.
I just hope that the coating doesn’t start to peel off because this is the best case I’ve tried on the iPhone so far, and it is staying unless I encounter any trouble with it.
Good luck everyone.
Aug 27, 2008 at 11:32 pm
I got my matte black case today and i’m wondering if anyone has a problem with the colour of the case as the bottom section of my case appears to be slightly darker than the main section of case.
Its only noticable when you look at it at certain angles, anyone else have this problem?
Aug 28, 2008 at 7:14 pm
I just got my black matte case today. It looks and feels great – I love the soft paint finish which makes the phone less slippery.
I do have the same problem indicated above in that the bottom does not fit perfectly – there is a small gap between the two case halves. Is this a manufacturing problem?

Like many others I also had trouble getting the top part of the slider off the phone, but eventually got it off by holding the bottom of the phone with one hand and the sides of the slider in my other hand and wiggling the slider back and forth/side-to-side while pulling away from the phone. It’s slow going at first then comes right off. Also if using a protective film make sure it is on straight before putting on the slider or you’ll get bubbles.
Sep 02, 2008 at 4:05 am
hi i am in melbourne, australia…i really like the iphone 3g slider cases…seems like only united states residents can buy it though…anyway i can buy one from u mates?its really awesome!
Sep 03, 2008 at 8:28 am
Peace Flapple!
When do the Slider Cases ship to Germany?? No one here (Apple, and all premium resellers) even KNOWS about the new series for the 3G. Why is that?? It is so complicated to get em – thats really frustrating and besides that it will let many prospective customers let choose a different case.
PLEASE HURRY UP!!
Regards…
Sep 03, 2008 at 8:49 am
How soon will the other colours be available? I’m more looking forward for the black glossy but if it takes long I may well have to settle with the matte black..
Sep 04, 2008 at 5:10 am
I got my 3G last week, the guy in the Apple store showed me his own white gloss Slider case and said it was awesome but said the new black matt was even better.
He said “Just by it from the goincase site.”
I have now spent a week looking for it on every corner of the Internet and its nowhere to be seen (appart from the incase site). Even Apple’s own US site doesn’t allow you to add it to you Shopping Cart (not that they’ll ship it to the UK anyway)
People at Incase, WHEN ARE WE GOING TO BE ABLE TO BUY THE BLACK MATT SLIDER CASE! PLEASE!!
Sep 04, 2008 at 6:13 am
I’ll join the chorus of people wanting an international release of both the slider, and the protective cover. (Specifically for me, Australia, but also for anyone outside the US).
Sep 04, 2008 at 5:14 pm
Why is the black matte case “currently unavailible”? I can’t find it at the Apple store either. When should the black matte cases be availible again? Thanks!
Sep 06, 2008 at 11:55 am
Will it ever be sold outside of the USA? I live in Sweden and would love to get my hands on it!!!
/Patrik

Sep 09, 2008 at 6:14 am
FLAPPLE>>>>FLAPPLE>>> I am one of the incase loyalist and i was wondering when are more colors going to be avaliable for all iphone 3G accessories? you guys are worse than steve jobs and apple when it comes to being secretive…
Sep 15, 2008 at 2:11 am
When is the glossy black version coming? I hate the peeling issue on with the black matte.
HURRY PLEASE MY IPHONE NEEDS PROTECTION!
Sep 15, 2008 at 10:25 am
I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed any problems with it pushing in the side mute and vulumn buttons when sliding on the case for the first time…
Sep 22, 2008 at 1:33 am
I hope this case comes out in clear. If It does then I would buy this case.
Sep 28, 2008 at 5:20 pm
Where the hell is the glossy black slider for 3G?
Oct 14, 2008 at 9:04 am
Just noticed that you’ve released Gunmetal and Magenta version of the 3G slider. Those might appeal to some, but I can’t believe you’ve pushed off the gloss black version for so long – especially since there seem to many posting here who are waiting for it (and probably many more who aren’t posting). I’ve had my 3G for almost 3 month now and I need some protection for it. I’ve been waiting for the Glossy Black Slider since before i got the phone, but now I’m at the point where I may have to give up and find something form someone else.
Oct 14, 2008 at 9:33 am
@lorgh: We won’t be doing a black gloss slider case. We have tons of other colors planned.
Oct 15, 2008 at 8:38 am
Thanks for letting us know, but since you won’t be doing a glossy black version I will have to find something else. I really wanted to remain an Incase customer, but this is unacceptable to me. I hope you come to your senses soon and change your collective minds, otherwise it’s bye bye Incase for me.
Oct 23, 2008 at 8:57 am
I faxed in a claim a few days ago for the White Incase slider. The case was way too tight and I had to pry it off and broke it. I called incase and they said to fill out a claim and fax it in. How long till I receive a new case and want to make sure they got my claim form. Thanks.
Dec 18, 2008 at 8:19 pm
Hi. Can the incase slider be fitted on the iphone 3G which already has the “Zagg Invisible Shield” on? Thank you!
Feb 26, 2009 at 3:38 pm
Further to my previous posting and E-Mails to your support desk. I am now on my fourth slider case. Like the previous three, it has stopped taking a charge after 3-4 weeks of use. This is very frustrating, as the product obviously has great potential. I hope a solution can be found; I must assume that a lot of these units are coming back to you.
