Mad Decent Fall 2008 Tour Hardshell Case

Incase is one of the presenting sponsors of the Mad Decent Fall 2008 Tour, featuring a sick line-up of Diplo, Abe Vigoda, Telepathe and Boy 8- Bit.

During the kick-off stop at New York City’s Webster Hall, we shot the breeze with Diplo and Boy 8- Bit about the 2008 Mad Decent tour and all things Incase. Diplo showed us his Incase notebook bag he takes everywhere with him along with his Incase backpack.

We got a chance to talk about the limited-edition 15″ Hardshell Case featuring customized Mad Decent artwork by comic book artist Jacob Chabot (The Mighty Skullboy Army). Jacob illustrated everyone on the tour & also drew in a pizza man that has now become the main attraction of the tour.

We’ve also hooked up with several music blogs (including the Fader, Prefix Mag, Oh My Rockness and more) on a series of contests to give away tix to the shows (sorry, no travel expenses included!) and the limited-edition 15″ Hardshell Cases.

Mad Decent Hardshell Case

We’ll be giving away one of these to a lucky Incase blog reader! Just leave a comment and tell us why you deserve this case for a chance to win. The winner will be notified via email.

UPDATE: The Mad Decent Hardshell Case is for the “old” 15-inch MacBook Pro.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Contest now closed. Winners will be announced soon.

LAST UPDATE: The five lucky winners are…

  • Martin Seidel
  • Mac Warren
  • Whiz
  • Peter D.
  • Ian Azrin

No Age Goes on Tour to Europe

Ticket Counter

To say Dean Spunt and Randy Randall of NO AGE (Sub Pop), LA’s favorite two-man punk band, are enthusiastic about the world around them is, uh, an understatement. Whatever “it” is, if they discover something and like it, they tend to put the full weight of their positive powers to work.

Fortuitously for Incase, from our guitar cases to our backpacks and most brightly colored protective covers, Dean and Randy are waaayyy pumped. They also happen to be tight bros with a few people around here, which makes the nice vibes even nicer.

iPod Classic

Last week, we sent the boys off on their latest jaunt across the UK & Europe with some stuff to protect their gear. If you’ve ever seen NO AGE live, and know their relentless tour schedule, then you’d know they need gear protection. Case in point, the tour is called ‘Shred Yr Face,’ enough said.

From time to time over the next couple of weeks, while out annihilating Ye Olde World with tour mates Times New Viking (Matador) and Los Campesinos (Arts&Crafts), NO AGE plan to send a few updates and photos for us to share with you.

Safe travels, fellas! Good times ahead. :)

Hoodie

Here’s an update from guitarist Randy Randall: “So, No Age flew to London from Los Angeles. It is a really long flight, one we have done too many times this year. We are meeting up with Times New Viking and Los Campesinos. We are rockin’ the guitar case and backpacks from Incase. They are really comfortable and make hectic traveling easier and less back breaking. When we landed in London we had to take a coach to Brighton to meet up with the other bands. This tour already feels like planes, trains and automobiles.”

Check out the band’s Myspace page for tour dates, or visit their blog for hilarious tales from the road.

Hearts of Darknesses and Girl Talk in LA

Crowd Chaos

As we mentioned, NYC-based Hearts of Darknesses are currently on tour with Girl Talk, every teenager’s favorite remix/smash up artist.

Partydawgz

On Friday, October 24th, the bands rolled through Los Angeles’ Henry Fonda Theater. In a word, the show was chaos. Picture gigantic cannons shooting toiletpaper streamers, screaming/sweating kids running around (many wearing leg warmers, short-shorts and headbands), hundreds of water bottle fights, security guards losing their cool, Girl Talk’s Gregg Gilles pressing “PLAY,” Hearts of Darknesses playing 80s-inspired dark wave jams to give you nightmares, Grand Buffet stomping around on stage, posin’ and rappin’ ’bout food…

Doh

All in all, it was nice. Real weird, sure, but nice. Enjoy the photos!

Now Available: Parra for Curated by Arkitip

Parra de Leider

The second installment of the Curated by Arkitip project launches today with Parra. The prolific Dutch artist, who has received international recognition in both the commercial and fine art worlds, created the custom design featured on the Parra Sleeve for MacBook Pro 15” and Parra Slider Case for iPhone 3G, both available today.

Parra’s design for Curated by Arkitip is representative of his signature aesthetic, featuring bold, hand-drawn graphics inspired by the ruckus of old cartoon fights. Known for combining bright colors and his mastery of illustrated fonts with a twist of wit, Parra’s work is sought after by a new generation of design fanatics who appreciate his unique style that is heavily influenced by early nineties music and street culture.

The Parra Sleeve for MacBook Pro 15” and Parra Slider Case for iPhone 3G are available now in select Apple retail stores, better boutiques and online in our webstore and Arkitip.

Introducing: Hearts of Darknesses

Hearts of Darknessess

When NYC-based band Hearts of Darknesses got invited to open up for their good friend Gregg Gillis aka Girltalk on the first leg of his fall tour, their first thought was YES, followed by “how can we afford it when gas is so high and we have no tour support?!” Incase to the rescue. In addition to giving HOD $1000 in gas cards to make life easier on the road, we also provided Incase product to the entire band to protect their gear: notebook cases, iPhone + iPod cases and guitar bags.

Hard Shell

The band stopped by the Drillteam office in NYC on Thursday October 9 before heading out on tour (first stop Philly) to pick up their Incase gear (and gas allowance)!

Hearts of Darkness Sleeve

It wasn’t long before they customized one of the 15″ Slim Sleeve.

Hearts of Darknesses is the solo project of electronic music producer Frank Musarra, with help on the road from Shawn Lovejoy, Mike Fischer and Craig Dempsey. Check out tour dates and HOD music on the band’s Myspace page and continue to watch the Incase blog, and the HOD Flickr set for more updates from the road!
