Available this holiday season, Power Slider is the first accessory of its kind to more than double the battery life of iPhone 3G while providing integrated sync and charge capabilities and complete device protection. With its innovative functionality as both a case and power solution, Power Slider is perfect for the growing community of iPhone 3G users who are app happy or game crazy and find themselves in need of extra power.
A custom engineered lithium-ion polymer battery with efficient circuitry was created specifically for Power Slider to allow for a slim design and maximum power output. The optimized power management system provides continuous charge to the internal battery of iPhone 3G. When in use, power drains first from Power Slider so that the device’s internal battery remains fully charged and is only depleted once the battery of Power Slider has been drained.
An integrated sync mode allows Power Slider users to easily sync and charge their devices while iPhone 3G is in Power Slider. A five-light LED battery status indicator gauges battery life and also denotes sync mode and charging. Included with every Power Slider is a custom USB 2.2 cable that allows for high capacity charging and data exchange for optimal charging and syncing. Additionally, Power Slider is compatible with all USB charging ports that provide 5V at 1A output.
The design of Power Slider is an evolution of our best-selling Slider Case. With its low profile, complementary design, Power Slider maintains the durable, lightweight hardshell construction of the Slider Case and features soft-touch coating for added grip and durability.
Power Slider provides the best in hardshell protection and extended battery life for iPhone 3G. Certified by the Apple® “Works with iPhone” program, Power Slider been designed to connect specifically to iPhone 3G and meet Apple’s performance standards.

I’m looking forward to getting the Power Slider! I love my iPhone, but it often comes up a bit short on battery time when I’m on the web. The Power Slider looks like it will give me exactly the boost I need.

Do the Slider cases made by InCase have any recommended accessory (i.e. a holster) that it can attach to at the belt level?

Wow I need 4 of these, one for everyone in my family!! Is it cheaper if I buy in bulk?? Different colors maybe??

I’ve written to Incase without a reply as yet.
It appears that the only way to charge is via USB cord connected to a USB port on a computer.
Do you guys see it that way too ?
I can’t decide between this and the Morphie case.
The Icase is a seamless fit and I like the idea of it being a case but if tethered to a USB port it looses part of the appeal to me.

The answer is yes, can charge either way bought my Incase at the apple store today on sale for $81.

I just received my “slider” today. Sleek, nice fit, and is rapidly charging via my USB computer connection. The only question that I thought of, is given my frequent traveling, I need multiple platforms for recharging.
So the USB works on my computer, and AC adaptor outlet from the iPhone – check.
Ok, so I just purchased a USB AC Car adaptor on e-bay for a couple of dollars – check.
Now the remaining question, knowing I tend to misplace things on the fly, and always believing in redundancy access for power — how do I purchase separately, just the customized cables?
Would like one in my travel bag, as well as car and desk top.

Can you use a regular USB standard-to-mini cable to recharge? The cable supplied with the unit is way too short. Why is is it “very important” to fully charge the slider battery before inserting the IPhone?
Dec 23, 2008 at 12:49 pm
@geep: You may be able to use another mini-USB cable, but because of the variations in quality and efficiency of the number of products available, we highly recommend using the one provided. Our cable has been tested to ensure it works with Power Slider.
It is important to fully charge your Power Slider to make sure that your unit is charging properly and to ensure that you get maximum output. If your unit is not charged you may have problems syncing with
iTunes.

PLEASE Make power slider for the first gen iPhone!!!

What a dud!
I doubt very much this e mail will see the light of day . . . as you have clearly selling a badly
defective product! I’ve had TWO and both are defective. Man, that no coincidence! The first
was defective right out of the box and would not hold a charge. The second, it lasted just over
three weeks and it will not hold a charge – in fact it wont even charge to the first blue light. No
blue lights at all.
I’m going to my local Apple store tomorrow a raise hell. I bet I’m not the only one either . .
Feb 27, 2009 at 12:53 pm
I have a power slider for a backup when my battery is low. This product will not hold a charge! I can keep it at home, and within three days the battery is dead! Without being on my iPhone, it just drains the battery sitting on my desk! It has not been left in extreme heat, like in the sun or in my car. I think there should be a recall for all the defective ones sold. Apple store will not take it back because it was purchased online. It seems I’m out of a $100……. Also, where’s the support page for InCase? I know they just sell cases, but if they want to get into higher technology, like batteries, they should have some sort of online support.. at least a contact number so I can check to see if I was doing something wrong or advice on if I should return the product.

I totally agree with the special dock. I get annoyed having to look for the cord on the floor every time.
