How Oh No Makes Beats with iElectribe On His iPad
As part of our ongoing Featured Apps series, we take a closer look at Korg’s iElectribe for iPad. With a four-part percussion synthesizer, 16-step sequencer, 64 preset patterns and more, iElectribe harnesses all the fun of analog synth-style beatmaking.
Stones Throw recording artist Oh No uses up to three iPads at a time to create beats. Here’s what he had to say about the process:
When you look at the iPad, everybody thinks it’s just for books. It’s more than just iBooks; it’s pretty much an everything pad. We used to use the old school Korg1, the SP12. Now you have Reason and MPCs and the iPad, which has everything that [those devices] had, plus more. You can tweak everything…. It’s open. It’s unlimited now.
iElectribe is available now at Apple’s App Store for a special introductory price of $9.99 (regular price: $19.99). Promotional pricing expires June 30, 2010.
