Incase Commemorates DFA Record’s 10th Anniversary with a Limited Edition Snap Case for iPhone 4
In the wake of DFA’s 10th anniversary, we have joined forces with DFA to create a signature Snap Case for iPhone 4, marking a decade of groundbreaking music from the New York-based label.
Co-founded in 2001 by James Murphy, Tim Goldsworthy and Jonathan Galkin, DFA Records has become the creative laboratory for numerous cutting-edge artists including The Rapture, Hercules & Love Affair, Holy Ghost!, YACHT, Hot Chip, The Juan Maclean and James Murphy’s own breakout group, LCD Soundsystem.
The limited edition DFA Snap Case features an all-over print of DFA’s instantly recognizable lighting bolt logo, which was originally drawn by James Murphy. Now, fans of DFA and its artists can show love to the label that has brought them a decade of progressive sound with a case for iPhone 4 that reflects the musical taste within.
The DFA Snap Case is available in black and white exclusively through our webstore. Be sure to visit the DFA page to learn, hear and see more about DFA with streaming tracks and video from some of our favorite DFA artists.
New Collection of Andy Warhol Designs for iPhone, iPad and MacBook
We are proud to announce the second release of designs in the Incase for Andy Warhol Collection. The latest collection release highlights Warhol’s artistic range, featuring imagery from works in a variety of media including silkscreening (Elvis, Advertisements), film (Empire) and hand-drawing (Telephone, Do It Yourself Flowers). Iconic Warhol images turn Incase’s signature protective cases and bags for iPhone, iPad and MacBook into functional pieces of art, a tribute to the great American artist’s affinity for technology and its place in contemporary culture and the arts.
New for iPhone 4 is a series of Snap Cases adorned with a selection of Warhol artwork. A still image from Warhol’s 1964 silent film Empire pays homage to one of the world’s most recognizable skyscrapers and emblemizes the experimental film that spans more than eight hours in length. A hand-drawn image of an early 1900s telephone, originally drawn on linen, reminds us of the enduring telephone technology, which still takes primacy today even with modern advancements in personal communication.
A full range of products for MacBook, iPad 2 and iPhone 4 are treated with an Incase-exclusive collage of Warhol pieces from his advertisements series. Individual Warhol pieces contrast product advertisements against existential and religious themes and provide a striking and thought-provoking casing for Apple devices.
A stunning Elvis portrait, a prime example of Warhol’s early photographic silkscreen technique, is applied to cases for MacBook, iPad 2 and iPhone 4. Taken from a promotional poster for the film “Flaming Star,” Warhol’s use of silver and black crystallizes Elvis’ status as one of the most legendary stars of the silver screen and is a reflection of an ongoing celebrity and fame-driven theme present in some of Warhol’s most recognizable works.
Warhol’s Do It Yourself Flowers lampoons the paint-by-numbers kits that gained popularity with hobby painters in the sixties. Featured on our MacBook Sleeve and Snap Case for iPhone 4, the intentionally “unfinished” works demonstrate Warhol’s ability to emphasize specific areas of the composition for visual impact and liberate ownership of the original source through his unique style.
These latest releases in the Incase for Andy Warhol Collection are available today through our webstore with a limited range to follow at Apple retail and discerning boutiques worldwide.

Whooooaaaa! Here’s THIS los angeles co-curator Justin Van Hoy with a few choice words about the event:
“THIS los angeles presents it’s first out-of-Los Angeles gallery experience at The ACE New York. We normally don’t like to leave our little neck of the woods in LA, but The ACE is worthy of the trip. 25 of our favorite creative friends will be exhibited until the end of the month at the hotel”.
