THIS LA Part & Parcel Opening Night
On Friday, November 19th, THIS Los Angeles hosted the opening reception for new works by New York-based designers Part & Parcel. For the event Incase collaborated with THIS and P&P to create 100 limited-edition cotton canvas totes.
Thanks again to THIS los angeles and co-owner Justin Van Hoy. Most of all, thanks to everyone who came out on such a cold, dreary night. Enjoy the photos. We hope to see you at the Giant Artists opening in December. Guaranteed to be a doozy. Yes, there will be totes!

Introducing our Latest Series of Andy Warhol Designs
Just in time for the holiday season, our new Incase for Andy Warhol Snap Case designs showcase five distinct pieces from the artist’s body of silk screening work, turning your iPhone 4S into a canvas for iconic Warhol imagery.
The 1964 Self Portrait featured in this series was the artist’s second, and utilizes a picture taken in a photo booth as the basis for his signature silkscreen technique. Warhol’s face and persona remain as recognizable today as his work, a rare achievement for even the most famous artists.
A United Press photograph of Easter Sunday goers in Vatican City serves as the foundation for Warhol’s 1963 Crowd silkscreen. What appears to be an imperceptible black and white pattern from afar reveals itself to be a packed mass of people and faces upon closer inspection. In Crowd, Warhol turns the spectators themselves into the spectacle, focusing on the collective power of the crowd.
Warhol’s Cars and Handle with Care – Glass – Thank You, both from 1962, feature one of the artist’s most recognizable pop art innovations: the serial repetition of an everyday image. Both serve as clear examples of Warhol’s ability to reinvent the ordinary, achieved in part by his use of screen printing to repeat images on a single canvas.
In Diamond Dust Shoes (1980), Warhol incorporated crushed glass particles on top of his screen printed images, a technique he employed in a number of works including portraits of famous personalities. In this piece, the faux “diamond dust” enhances the visual impact of the piece while reflecting the style and flash of the late disco era.
The new Warhol Snap Case series in Self Portrait, Crowd, Cars, Handle with Care – Glass – Thank You and Diamond Dust Shoes for iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 is available now for pre-order in our webstore.
Introducing the Ryan McGinness Capsule Collection
Artist Ryan McGinness explores outer space, the inner space of the mind and as McGinness puts it, “uber fanciness” in our latest collaboration. Available today, the Ryan McGinness capsule collection uses Incase products as a vessel for delivering the New York-based artist’s work, with a range that includes a 15” Protective Sleeve, Snap Case for iPhone 4S and Shoulder Bag. Created specifically for Incase, the original artwork featured in the collection is part of a larger body of work entitled Black Holes.
The Black Holes series is inspired by “event horizons,” the celestial light show that accompanies the collapse of light and matter into a black hole. Concentric patterns depict the theoretical physics of the universe while simultaneously creating mindscape portals to provoke a psychedelic response from the viewer. In our Ryan McGinness capsule collection, the artist has applied his iconic drawings to Incase’s signature cases and bags designed for Apple users with an appreciation of both art and technology.
The Ryan McGinness capsule collection is available now in limited quantities through our webstore.

Fun Fun Fun Fest 2011 Was Fun*3
Transmission Entertainment again produced one of Austin’s finest outdoor music events of the year: The 6th Annual FUNFUNFUNfest delivered it all: three stages + SLAYER + gourmet food trucks + Lykke Li + Ryan Gosling & Terrence Malick + Austra + an enormous multi-level mini-ramp + Danzig + Hot Snakes + Public Enemy + TV Casualty (aka Ted Leo & The Pharmacists doing Misfits covers) + hot antelope/jackrabbit sausages from Frank Grocery + Blonde Redhead + Boris + Black Lips + a stand-up comedy tent (featuring Henry Rollins & Brian Posehn) + Thee Oh Sees + Tinariwen + Four Tet + Diplo + 125 more musical guests…
We watched a three-day array of great bands from across the musical spectrum, wore makeshift masks (to cover our faces from the brutal Auditorium Shores dust ball), ate sausages and drank sweet tea, shot photos, shot the breeze, skated an amazing mini-ramp, and provided enormous boxes of Incase products to a wide variety of performing artists. Austin is a special place full of spirited music, gracious people, and fantastic food. We’d like to thank the City of Austin and everyone affiliated with Transmission Entertainment for another excellent visit. Enjoy our Flickr photo set.
