This past Friday THIS los angeles and Incase hosted the opening night for the new exhibition “TURBO LOVER” from artist and musician Thom Lessner.

For the occasion we worked with Lessner and gallery co-owner Justin Van Hoy to create 100 limited-edition, custom cut & colored totes. The 80s hesher-inspired black skulls on a blood-red bag might be the scariest/funniest/most ridiculous tote we’ve ever made.

By the way, Glen Danzig spotting his band mates in the weight room was our favorite work of the show. It must be seen in person to be properly appreciated. Incase is proud to support Ghostly International: Of Art and Artifice, a multi-day event presented by the Art Directors Club CRE8 Series that promotes art connected through a spirit of inventiveness and anti-genre thinking. In the years since its birth in 1999, Ghostly has grown from a boutique label known for its experimental-pop and -techno acumen to an internationally recognized platform for the work of the world’s best visual artists, designers, technologists, and musicians.

As a multi-platform cultural curator, Ghostly International is a tightly knit aesthetic universe fulfilling the roles of art gallery, design house, clothing designer, technology innovator, music-publishing company and record label, all in one. From September 13-16, The Art Directors Club will house a comprehensive exhibition that gives a peek into what’s next after 13 years of creativity from Ghostly International, highlighting an essential selection of work from the Ghostly family in a never-before-seen collection. In addition to the exhibition, Of Art and Artifice will also encompass a series of events that include an Opening Gala with live performances by Com Truise, Lusine and NYC’s own Michna, as well as two days of talks with Ghostly artists hosted by Incase.

In celebration of the upcoming event, we are proud to feature an exclusive compilation of tracks from Ghostly International’s lineup of artists available for streaming and download only at goincase.com.

Ever-hungry to find new avenues for his worldview, he has made recent explorations into theoretical text and performance art.

THIS visits the backyard studio of Megan Whitmarsh as she was getting ready for her solo show “Radiant Decade” at THIS Los Angeles. The amount of color and work in her space was mind blowing. It was all just begging to be photographed.

THIS visits the backyard studio of Megan Whitmarsh as she was getting ready for her solo show “Radiant Decade” at THIS Los Angeles. The amount of color and work in her space was mind blowing. It was all just begging to be photographed.

With a seemingly endless array of projects going on, Megan found time to sit down and give us some insight into her process and the origins of her current work. She has shown around the world most recently here in LA. Her show “Faded Rainbows/ Radiant Dust” is open in Belgium at the Elaine Levy Project until May 21st.

We take a minute to visit Jordan Sellers, activist and artist. For the last 10 years Jordan has spearheaded an ongoing campaign for better public space in his native city, New York, and other international posts. What started as a project for his undergrad education at RISD has turned into his lifelong calling.
