In this new episode, THIS Visits goes into the workshop of Chris Beidel, a designer and craftsman with a unique approach to woodworking.

Chris Beidel is the founder of Pernt, a Brooklyn, NY studio and workshop specializing in handcrafted wood furniture made from recycled and repurposed materials. His designs let the elemental impact of natural wood speak for itself: a lightning-killed cherry tree is carefully polished into an elegant bench; pine floorboards salvaged from an old warehouse get new life as a trim coffee table.

Formally schooled as an architect, Beidel found his calling in furniture design, relishing in the the hands-on, manual aspect of furniture creation. Beidel chats with THIS Visits and gives us an inside look at the Pernt studio and some of his latest works.
