Introducing Incase for Andy Warhol
We are proud to unveil our collaboration with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. This distinctive collection features Warhol’s artwork applied to select cases, sleeves and bags for iPhone, iPad and MacBook.
As a cutting-edge visual artist, Warhol understood and embraced technology and saw it as the future of contemporary culture and the arts. Warhol once said “A lot of people could help me with parts and segments of the business, but only a computer would be totally useful to me…A computer would be a very qualified boss.” Fittingly, Incase for Andy Warhol fuses his artwork our technology-driven designs. We launch this continuing series with Warhol’s late-era Camouflage and the Banana screen print created in 1966, which also appeared on the cover of The Velvet Underground & Nico’s self-titled debut album. Additional signature Warhol graphics are featured on our iPhone Snap Cases including his striking 1964 Flowers print, Dollar Signs (1982), a wry commentary on art as a consumer item, and a colorful cow portrait taken from his whimsical 1966 Cow Wallpaper.

On Wednesday, April 6, Incase and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts will host a private event in New York to celebrate the launch of Incase for Andy Warhol. The event will draw from Warhol’s seemingly prescient stance on technology and its effect on popular culture with interactive art installations, as well as showcase the newly released collection. The entire event will be captured on video via iPhone 4 and will be streaming live on goincase.com.

Spring has sprung, and now that Apple has unveiled the new iPad 2, we’re rolling out innovative new designs, and refreshing some of your favorite products for Apple’s latest device. WIRED, the magazine known for innovation and design, has curated more than 200 engaging products, along with interactive installations for its annual WIRED Store gallery. The shopping space includes what’s new and next in consumer electronics, gaming, active gear, home goods, eco-lifestyle items, apparel, and children’s toys in the three-level historic Tower Records building in the NoHo neighborhood of New York City.
Located at 692 Broadway (at 4th Street), the WIRED Store will be open to the public between November 19 and December 26 from 11am to 7pm Wednesdays through Sundays. For the eighth installment of Curated by Arkitip, artist José Parlá documents his experiences in calligraphic and palimpsestic code using our signature protective cases. Available today, the José Parlá capsule collection for Curated by Arkitip features original Parlá artwork applied to the 15″ MacBook Pro Sleeve and Convertible Book Jacket for iPad, both of which are constructed of premium pebbled leather, as well as the Slider Case for iPhone 4.
According to Parlá, “the Incase and Arkitip Curated project is interesting to me because it is a way to incorporate the artist’s story into an art object that is accessible to a global audience.”
Featuring three distinct pieces of Parlá’s imagery—Lost Horizon, Li-Jiang and Miami Writers Circa 1986—the Curated by Arkitip collection serves as textually chronicled memories. The original markings appear on backdrops that resemble the distressed surfaces he encounters and the cosmetic results of passed time: city walls marred from layers of paint, old posters and years of neglect. They have now been transcribed onto protective cases for Apple devices in the spirit of communicating Parlá’s art through the lens of mobile product.
“As a friend and personal fan of his work, it has been a real honor to work with José in the context of Incase and our Curated by Arkitip program. I am extremely proud of the result as we were able to explore new territory with premium materials, artistic embellishment and unique packaging,” said Damon Way, Incase Chief Brand Officer. “I’m pleased to have the opportunity to offer such creative and memorable products to the Incase audience.”
