THIS visits the backyard studio of Megan Whitmarsh as she was getting ready for her solo show “Radiant Decade” at THIS Los Angeles. The amount of color and work in her space was mind blowing. It was all just begging to be photographed.

With a seemingly endless array of projects going on, Megan found time to sit down and give us some insight into her process and the origins of her current work. She has shown around the world most recently here in LA. Her show “Faded Rainbows/ Radiant Dust” is open in Belgium at the Elaine Levy Project until May 21st.

On Friday, March 25th, THIS Los Angeles in Highland Park hosted the opening night party for exhibiting artist Megan Whitmarsh. Her work is amazing. Like, for real amazing. Complicated, grand, handmade, heartwarming, time consuming, vibrant, and just really, really enjoyable to gaze upon and ponder. GO SEE THIS SHOW! To commemorate the event we worked with THIS and Whitmarsh to create 100 limited edition canvas totes. Unfortunately all 100 were snatched up during the opening, so we have none for giveaway this time around. Sorrrrrrrrry!

]]> After a long week of excruciatingly loud music showcases at SXSW, (don’t worry, our mega-recap is forthcoming), we’re excited to announce an altogether softer community event— Friday, March 25th, THIS Los Angeles is having the opening reception for RADIANT DECADE, the solo exhibition of painter & soft sculpture artist Megan Whitmarsh. As well the night marks Whitmarsh’s birthday and coincides nicely with the date ten years ago she moved to the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. So folks, as you can imagine, this opening is rather special. For the occasion Incase x THIS x Megan Whitmarsh have joined forces to make 100 limited-edition cotton canvas tote bags commemorating the night. Arrive early to grab a tote, stay late to enjoy the party.The reception is free and features an open bar, 7-10PM. Happy birthday Megan!
