Window

A huge thanks to all who came out to the unveiling of Project Space for the opening reception of our first exhibition with Parra.

In “Yes, Yes, Yes,” Parra takes his signature illustrations in a new direction by utilizing only black and white.

Yes, Yes, Yes. Works of Art by Parra

We are proud to announce our first exhibition at Project Space with Parra.

32-year-old Dutch illustrator and designer Parra has decorated the Amsterdam underground with his playful, bizarre graphics that span a broad base of themes, from introspective to audacious and bawdy. The mostly self-taught artist seems to channel a vintage form with curves, yet with a decidedly modern, post-pop approach.

Parra’s vibrant and often humorous images feature a distinctive, hand-drawn feel, and can be seen printed on various exhibitions around the globe—club flyers, record sleeves and billboards—as well as silk screened on tees and sweaters. His work can also be found in the second installment of Curated by Arkitip, adorning the Incase signature MacBook Sleeve and iPhone Slider Case.

Parra’s characteristic style has also extended into his music career with electro-rock group Le Le. Their most popular track “Breakfast” features Parra’s typography and imagery set in motion to the song’s pulsating beats and comical (and slightly naughty) lyrics.

Parra Plays, a Free iPhone Game

Parra Plays

We’re excited to announce our first game for iPhone and iPod touch, Parra Plays. Based on the Parra artwork from the second installment of the Curated by Arkitip project, the app consists of three games:

Poppers
It’s like a touch screen version of “Whac-A-Mole.” Touch the clouds before they pop! Sounds easy enough, right? Keep playing…

Parrot
Loosely based on “Simon Says,” but with a twist. You think you can break 100? Yeah right!

Pairs
Very similar to the classic “Memory” card game. Uncover the matching cards. The faster you do it, the better your score!

Parra Plays is 100% FREE. No ads, no pop-ups, just fun for days.

Don’t forget to check out the other downloadable Parra freebies.

And, if you’re in LA, Parra will be having another show at HVW8 Gallery on April 4th. We’ll be there too of course.

Parra

Parra talks about what inspired his design for the Curated by Arkitip project during this inside look at a day in his life. Filmed and narrated by the artist himself, Parra gives an overview of his design process, shows how he creates music for his band, Le Le, and even gives a sneak preview of a new music video that he’s working on

Now Available: Parra for Curated by Arkitip

Parra de Leider

The second installment of the Curated by Arkitip project launches today with Parra. The prolific Dutch artist, who has received international recognition in both the commercial and fine art worlds, created the custom design featured on the Parra Sleeve for MacBook Pro 15″ and Parra Slider Case for iPhone 3G, both available today.

Parra’s design for Curated by Arkitip is representative of his signature aesthetic, featuring bold, hand-drawn graphics inspired by the ruckus of old cartoon fights. Known for combining bright colors and his mastery of illustrated fonts with a twist of wit, Parra’s work is sought after by a new generation of design fanatics who appreciate his unique style that is heavily influenced by early nineties music and street culture.

The Parra Sleeve for MacBook Pro 15″ and Parra Slider Case for iPhone 3G are available now in select Apple retail stores, better boutiques and online in our webstore and Arkitip.
