André
A native of Uppsala, Sweden, André began painting on the walls of Paris in 1985 and quickly became one of the city's most prolific graffiti artists. He broke ground by becoming the first artist to use a character—"Mr. A," a stick figure with a top hat—instead of a tag name. In "Love Graffiti," one of his most famous projects, André spray paints a lover's name in oversized bubble letters in a location of his client's choice. In 2004, Andre and friends opened Le Baron, an elite and confidential micro-club created from a former bordello. André continues to redefine the art of nightlife itself. André splits his time between Paris and New York City.
