Great Protection
I have been reading mixed reviews about the Hardshell for the past 4 months or so. The issue I heard the most was about the screen not being able to go past 90 degrees. I decided to go ahead and get one myself; and I can tilt my screen back as far as 120 degrees without applying any force. Overall, I'm glad I purchased it.

The case is good but it should be available in aqua blue.

I Love the Black Hard-case with my MacBook! Also, my wires all fit perfectly, and it's soft, not plasticky... I recommend this to any MacBook owner!
Great product!
THE most important thing is that I, too, thought that the hardshell prohibited my Macbook from opening all the way. Then, I took it off to see how to modify it and realized it was installed wrong...barely, but still wrong. On the back of the bottom half of the shell, there is a small lip that has to be seated correctly. Where the vents are, you must tip the computer into the shell and then lay it in place to snap the edges into place. After it is installed correctly, you'll gain back all the positioning ability. It was my only complaint, and now I have NONE! Love it! Bought the neoprene sleeve, too, for extra cushioning in my backpack (and to keep out random debris that normally gets into my backpack), and I love them both!
Works and looks great plus doesn't get in the way.
I recently purchased this product to replace my Speck hard case. I was never happy with the Speck product but it was a free gift with the purchase of my MacBook. The Speck hard case is unattractive. This product is very attractive without detracting from the design of the MacBook. This product also seems to allow slightly greater range of movement in the display hinge, which is important with the glossy screen of the MacBook. The design of the rubber feet is also superior on this product. The rubber feet on the Speck case actually came loose and spread adhesive over the bottom of the case. Finally, the overall fit and finish of this product is exceptional.
Best case out in the market
I find that the case can be described as simple, elegant, and functional. It protects your MacBook the way a case should, and the added buffers inside that prevent scratches to be caused by the case.
I find only three drawbacks. First, the enclosure causes the MacBook's cooling fan to work overtime, which leads to faster power drains. Second, the case prevents the screen from opening up all the way. And finally, the laptop becomes noticeably heavier with the case on.
Essentially, this case is worth the drawbacks and proves to compliments the overall aesthetics of the MacBook.

i love this product for my mac. it keeps it clean and scuff free! i wouldn't use anything else to product my mac but can we get some more colors? like blue or orange or green? right now i have white and i want to personalize my mac more!
Where is the 17" style?
I just got a 17" MBP and I soooo want this, but they don't make one to fit. I don't wanna be stuck with the speck hardcase :( even thought that one seems good too, but I like the soft touch that the incase one has. MAKE A 17" VERSION PLEASE!!!
Fantastic case, don't bother with other products!
I did a lot of shopping around, and owned another case for a while before investing in this one. I love this product! It really delivers in terms of protection, and still looks beautiful on my macbook. Other reviewers have mentioned security problems with regards to laptop locks, but I have had no problems. I use the Kensington MicroSaver 64068E Security Cable Lock and it works fine. I also find that some limited extension of the screen is worth protecting my investment. I would highly recommend this product! I also own their neoprene sleeve, which is not only a great sleeve providing a lot more padding than other sleeves on the market, but also still fits the laptop when a hardshell is added.

Guys, don't even bother with other products!!! This stuff works like magic. I put it on really easy and it protects my computer. I bought it with the neoprene sleeve, and together they make a perfect match. Its worth all the pennies!! Don't waste energy, time and money trying to get something that won't work. GET THIS ONE!!!!

Major flaw in security
The case is built tough, stays fastened as it should, and it maintains an elegant look while it's wrapped on the macbook. One thing that really irks me right now is the major security flaw. I have a Kensington combo lock that I use when I leave my macbook in a library to go to the restroom. The lock will not fasten to the macbook because of the thickness of the hardshell case. It is virtually impossible. Aside from that, the case does not allow for the screen to go back all the way. Though the case does a lot to protect the macbook from scratches and what not, it is not flawless in the other aspects one would hope it would help out with--such as opening the screen all the way and being able to lock the macbook.

I love this case!
There were two kinds of hard cases in stock at the Mac store- There was a Speck hard case and an Incase. In the past I have purchased other products made by incase for my ipod. I absolutely love their products--so when I saw my familiar brand I bought the coverfor my laptop. I absolutely love it! It was so easy to snap on--took less than 30 seconds. I just purchased a white MacBook a week ago, so I'm not sure how it holds up yet. But every other product i've purchased from them has done great and I'm sure this one will too! :-)
Great Product, One Limitation (Thus Far)
I was happy to find this product in the Apple Store this morning when I went in to get some technical help. I know there are other products on the market similar to this one, but I've read about how some tend to scratch up the computer case and so rejected buying them. This one seems to be the perfect combination between firm and flexible, so I am pretty confident that it won't scratch. I recommend it strongly. The one draw back that I've seen in the very brief time I've been using it is that the hardshell doesn't allow me to open the laptop as far as I am accustomed to doing so. I tend to open it all the way and now it won't. It's not by much, however, and I am pretty sure that I will be get used to it quickly. Seems like a good product overall, and if it will extend the life of my laptop, all the better.

this is the best case out on the market hands down. Fits perfect and only took me about 30 seconds to get the case on. It is semi transparent so you can still see the illuminated apple. I was going to get the speck case, but then the guy at the Apple store showed me this case in black and it was an instant decision to get this case. It is well worth the price too.
