Compared To What by OFF!
Regardless of what anyone might say, hardcore punk isn’t dead. On the contrary, it is very much alive and wonderfully harshing your mellow. Hardcore supergroup OFF! is undeniable proof. While on a recent break from busy summer touring, the band blasted through a short set inside their dodgy motel room rehearsal space (otherwise known as Room 205). Play it loud.
To call OFF! a supergroup just isn’t super enough. Formed in 2010, OFF! has already released First Four EPs (on Vice Music) of mind scraping hardcore punk and have logged more road miles than most bands will in their entire existence. The four OFF! members come from an array of truly awe-inspiring bands. Keith Morris fronted the legendary Black Flag and The Circle Jerks. Dimitri Coats doubled as singer and guitarist for Burning Brides. Steven McDonald was bassist for Redd Kross, and Mario Rubalcaba has crushed drums for giants like Earthless, Hot Snakes and Rocket From the Crypt.
