Chris Beidel founded and runs Pernt, a Brooklyn, NY studio and workshop that specializes in handcrafted wood furniture made from recycled and repurposed materials. Formally schooled as an architect, Beidel found his calling in furniture design, and he clearly relishes the expereince of working with his hands. His designs let the elemental impact of natural wood speak for itself. A lightning killed cherry tree is carefully polished into an elegant bench. Pine floorboards salvaged from an old warehouse get new life as a trim coffee table. You get the idea.
